While guest appearing at a conference at an LA high school, Gaga admits she struggled with bulimia during her own high school days LADY GAGA HAS MADE NO SECRET ABOUT HER PAST STRUGGLES WITH SELF ESTEEM AND BULLYING, AND NOW THE SINGER ISN’T HOLDING BACK ABOUT HER LONGTIME BATTLE WITH BULIMIA. THE MOTHER MONSTER WAS A SURPRISE GUEST AT THE “IT’S OUR TURN” YOUNG WOMEN’S CONFERENCE HOSTED BY MARIA SHRIVER, AT AN LA SCHOOL LAST WEEKEND…AND SHE DIDN’T HOLD BACK WHEN A STUDENT ASKED HER HOW SHE DEALS WITH BODY ISSUES: “I used to throw up all the time in high school,” SHE SAID. “So I’m not that confident. I wanted to be a skinny little ballerina, but I was a voluptuous little Italian girl whose dad had meatballs on the table every night.” “I used to come home and say, ‘Dad, why do you always give us this food? I need to be thin,’” the BORN THIS WAY SINGER ADDED. “And he’d say, ‘Eat your spaghetti.’” LUCKILY, GAGA SOON REALIZED THE TOLL HER EATING DISORDER WAS TAKING ON HER THROAT… “It made my voice bad, so I had to stop. The acid on your vocal chords … it’s very bad.” THEN SHE TOLD THE PACKED GYM OF GIRLS, “Every video I’m in, every magazine cover, they stretch you; they make you perfect. It’s not real life… “I’m encouraging you to know what you’re worth. And know that no matter who has more money and class, who has more stuff, who has a country house – nobody is worth more than anybody else.”

@WearingTheseShades could you possibly link to the specific videos?
Say
I don’t give a fuck what anybody I love lady gaga she is so talented word!!!
@TheOneAndOnlyMe92 A lot of people suffer and struggle with them….It’s more than just Demi. They probably are coming out now because it’s relevant.
i knew it!!!!
@wh0reship I never called her attention seeking. I’m just saying people who don’t understand what people go through when they have an ED will most likely see her as attention seeking. Everyone called Kim Kardashian attention seeking when she said she apparently had an ED, so I don’t see why the same shouldn’t happen to Lady Gaga.
In the Gagavision videos you can see some scars on her arms too so maybe she cut. Idc what anyone has to say about her, she’s my queen 3
Umm to all you people DOUBTING Gaga’s eating disorder, watch the fucking Marry The Night music video. There’s a scene where she did drugs, ate a bagel, and threw up into the toilet. It refers to a quote she stated in an interview years ago. “I was eating fried chicken when I got the call. I got up, did a line of coke, threw up, went to the meeting.” This happened after Island Def Jam records dropped her
@TheOneAndOnlyMe92 its sad that someone cant admit to having an eating disorder without being seen as attention seeking. it is the worst living hell and admitting it allows fans who also have an eating disorder to connect with you more. i do think she is brave for admitting it because when she does there are people out there like you who call her attention seeking, trying to achieve a higher status, weak, not brave.
Seems like there have been a lot of celebs lately that admit to eating disorders. :S
@o8Cupcakes8o I guess so if you look at it that way.. But they’ll never stop receiving attention whether they admit to having an ED or not you know?
@TheOneAndOnlyMe92 I think you’re looking at it the wrong way. Demi made them get the courage that it takes to come out with it. And they’re not saying it to get attention, but to get it out. if it doesn’t it’ll just eat them up inside. And yes it does make them more brave, not in other peoples eyes, but in their own. They feel like people know them to the fullest, but still accept them for who they are, and not their fake image.
Hey someone needs to start the circle, in this case it was Demi.
haha
@wh0reship I know. But why admit it all suddenly now at once after Demi was admitted for an eating disorder. If they’ve been ashamed for having a disorder up until now, why admit so now? Admitting they had one doesn’t make them more brave or give them a higher status. It just makes them look almost attention seeking because people will just realise they’re saying it now instead of having the strength that Demi did when she faced the truth.
@TheOneAndOnlyMe92 because people with eating disorders keep them in secret. they are ashamed or in denial so they hide them. when demi told people it probably gave others the courage to come out too. i think people would be surprised at the high volume of people who do.
What’s up with all these celebrities suddenly all claiming to have an eating disorder ever since Demi came out? It’s getting old.
